Radiologist Locum Coverage
A stroke-certified general acute care hospital, is seeking a Radiologist to provide ongoing coverage beginning February . Coverage is needed due to a provider resignation.
Schedule:
Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Ongoing coverage opportunity
Practice Setting:
Hospital-based with potential outpatient imaging coverage in an affiliated building
Stroke-certified facility (not a designated trauma center or chest pain center)
EMR:
CernerSupported by radiology nurses, technologists, and an affiliated Sacramento radiology group for overflow and after-hours reads
Clinical Responsibilities:
Hospital imaging coverage including stroke CTs, emergency department, ICU, and general inpatient imaging
Outpatient coverage may include supervising contrasted CTs, MRIs, and breast biopsies
Interpretation of approximately 50 imaging studies per day and performance of 4 6 procedures daily
Common Studies & Procedures:
CT, X-ray, and ultrasound interpretation
Lumbar punctures
Barium studies
Image-guided biopsies and drain placements
Interventional radiology procedures including thoracentesis, paracentesis, nephrostomy tubes, chest tubes, suprapubic catheter placement, abscess drainage, and thyroid/lung biopsies
Patient & Facility Volume:
ED volume:
Approximately patients dailyAverage inpatient/observation census: 50 patients (including ICU and OB)
Admissions: per day
Case mix includes medical, surgical, ICU, and obstetric patients
Required Qualifications:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiology
Active California medical license
Completion of Residency and/or Fellowship training
California Fluoroscopy certification (required at submission)
BLS and DEA (required during credentialing)
NPDB self-query report dated within 30 days of presentation
Demonstrated procedural competency and acute care imaging experience
Availability at time of name clear
