Job Information
Job Title: Executive Director of Technology

Primary PurposeResponsible for the overall management of the Information Technology Department and strategic planning of technology systems district wide. Provide expertise and direction in the development, deployment, and use of information technology in the district.
Qualifications Education/Certification/Experience- Master’s degree from an approved institution - preferred
- Previous Central administration experience in the supervision of technology and/or instructional personnel and programs preferred
- 3 years of experience in supervision and management of an information systems department for a large organization

- Provide guidance and coordination in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the district’s technology.
- Supervision of programs: district technical support, inventory, as well as student-based programs.
- Oversee the cross-collaboration with instructional technology and curriculum.
- Ensure that a vertically and horizontally aligned technology support and instructional delivery system is available to district teachers and students.
- Support and communicate the district's core mission and vision as they impact technology and student achievement and learning.
- Ensure appropriate technology policy development and review.
- Oversee the selection of software and other technology tools.
- Effectively use the district appraisal system with the staff members to be supervised.
- Define the program and fiscal needs in the budget development process.
- Develop and administer the information technology budget in line with documented needs, and ensure that operations are cost-effective and funds are managed wisely.
- Coordinate the purchase of all computer hardware, software, and supplies; initiate purchase orders and bids in accordance with budgetary limitations and district policies.
- Demonstrate responsible fiscal control over the assigned budgetary areas.
- Oversee project management within the technology department.
- Attend board meetings and prepare reports and policies for the board at the request of the Superintendent of Schools.
Supervise, evaluate, and recommend the hiring and firing of information technology department employees.
