Patient Access Representative – North Texas Orthopedics & Spine Center

We are seeking a dedicated Patient Access Representative to serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. The successful candidate will greet visitors, verify insurance, manage co‑pay collection, and coordinate scheduling while safeguarding confidential information.

Responsibilities
  • Check patients in for clinical encounters, scan paperwork, insurance cards, and photo .
  • Collect co‑pay, co‑insurance, and deductibles, and collect past‑due balances.
  • Enter charges and balance daily entries, providing reports to the Office Manager.
  • Audit assigned superbills daily for insurance verification and remaining pocket amounts.
  • Interpret appointment requests and schedule patient appointments based on clinic policies and physician preferences, identifying problems and advising the Office Manager or clinical staff.
  • Relay relevant information to internal staff when adding or changing an appointment.
  • Answer questions regarding patient appointments as requested.
  • Safeguard patient information and ensure all information remains confidential.
  • Participate in office meetings and educational activities.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Office Manager, Chief Operating Officer, or physicians.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED; preferred: graduate of an accredited medical administration or related program.
  • Billing/coding experience preferred.
  • Minimum of six months experience in an outpatient clinic preferred.
  • Ability to read, understand, and master policies and regulations.
  • Proficiency with patient management systems and computer software (e.g., patient appointment system, electronic medical record system, e‑mail).
  • Excellent communication skills with patients, staff, and vendors.
