Customer Service Rep
Overview
Performs a variety of activities as a part-time attendant on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad's (GVRR) Excursion Train and depots. Creates unforgettable experiences for guests both onboard the Train and at the depot. This role combines customer service, hospitality, and local knowledge to ensure every rider feels welcomed, informed, and safe throughout their journey.
Responsibilities- Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Friendly, approachable, and able to engage positively with guests of all ages.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, evenings, holidays, and during special events.
- Ability to count money accurately and operate point-of-sale systems (iPad, Square, credit card machines).
- Physical ability to lift up to 20 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Team-oriented, dependable, and professional demeanor
Minimum age 17.
Must have or be able to obtain a food handler’s certification within 30 days of hire date or promotion and must maintain it while employed. Employees over the age of 18 are required to have a current TABC certification and maintain it while employed.
Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check and credit check.
Must pass a pre-employment basic physical, drug screen, and functional assessment screening (Level
1), Ishihara vision screening, whisper test and audio screening.
While performing the essential functions of this position, there will be routine and frequent exposure to:
• Bright/dim light
• Dusts and pollen
• Extreme heat and/or cold
• Wet or humid conditions
• Extreme noise levels
• Animals/wildlife
• Vibration
• Fumes and/or noxious odors
• Traffic
• Moving machinery
• Other extreme hazards not listed above
Safety equipment such as gloves, goggles, hard hats, safety vests, steel-toe boots, back support belts, and seat belts are provided and must be worn as required by department procedures and good safety practices.

This job entails moderate physical labor, which requires strength and agility. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift, shovel, and carry 20 pounds and exert up to 100 pounds of force.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
