Responsibilities- Produces billable labor on vehicles brought into the Service Department for service or repair
- Sets completion times for the jobs assigned to the production team
- Dispatches work to all team members in a fair and equitable manner
- Manages the team to achieve high levels of overall production
- Maintains a high standard of quality workmanship for the labor performed by every team member
- Works with each team member to ensure their performance helps the team maintain their objectives
- Maintains a high level of cleanliness, grooming, and uniform appearance for the entire team
- Determines if employees are in good standing with the company
- Makes the final hiring decisions for team personnel
- Meets with the Service Manager at least once a week to discuss the team’s performance versus objectives and personnel problems
- Ensures that all team members adhere to company policies
- Determines the training needs of the team and informs management of those needs
- Communicates to the appropriate Assistant Service Manager (ASM) information regarding any job that will not meet the ASM’s promise time
- Assures that flat‑rate time assignments are true and accurate
- Reviews the up‑flagging of all repair orders at the end of each day (work in progress and left uncompleted)
- Covers the previous days’ flat‑rate hour performance with all team members every day
- Designates and trains a lead technician to manage the team in the team leader’s absence
- Works with the Service Manager to develop monthly production forecasts
- Maintains the team at the size determined by management
- Monitors technician certification status within the team as required (e.g., NIASE, State of Texas)
- Informs management of any situation or event that would interfere with established objectives, standards, or company policy
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and minimum one year dealership experience.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsOperator's Driver’s License;
State Inspection License.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
