Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Delivers group and individual Adult Education instruction to include high school equivalency preparation and integrated training and education for adults.
  • Develops training curricula and / or recommends or utilizes vendor programs that meet instructional goals and objectives.
  • May collaborate with a technical instructor to support high school equivalency students while they simultaneously work toward education that leads to family-sustaining careers.
  • Formulates training outlines and determines instructional methods that best suit adult learners. Delivery may include differentiated instruction, class lectures, workshops and online instruction.
  • Coordinates or performs administrative functions necessary to deliver and document education.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of educational delivery methods and uses relevant data to recommend and implement changes as needed.
  • May review instructor performance and recommend improvements to program content and / or instructor presentation methods.
  • May recruit, select and train instructors.
  • May lead, guide and train staff / student employees, interns and / or volunteers who are performing related work.
  • May coordinate and facilitate instruction with NMSU partner entities.
Qualifications

Required

Education and Experience:

Associate's Degree + 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Physical Effort: Light physical effort. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.

Risk: No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
