Preadmit & Eligibility Benefits Spec ATRMC (Cardiac Rehab)
Additional Position Details: FTE: 0.900000 | 36 hours per week | Full Time | Monday-Thursday (7:30am-5pm)
Starting Wage: $23.28-$32.02 per hour, depending on experience
Position SummaryThe Preadmit & Eligibility Benefits Specialist works closely with physicians' offices, insurance companies, internal departments, and patients to ensure that all demographic information is gathered, insurance benefits are verified, all third-party and contractual reporting requirements are met, all necessary authorization and/or referrals are in place, and all financial data is complete. Other responsibilities may include performing medical billing functions to third-party payers and patients;
reviewing paper and electronic claims to verify accuracy and completeness of charges; following up on denials and researching alternative solutions; verifying ICD-10 coding, posting payments and making adjustments; and researching and resolving minor patient complaints.
Education
- High school diploma is required
- Associate's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or other related field is preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a health care environment and familiarity with patient registration processes and insurance billing requirements is required.
- Computer experience, good verbal communication skills, and an understanding of the current trends in insurance billing and other third-party reimbursement issues are also required.
