Position: District Nurse (RN) (2025-2026)
Three Rivers School District is hiring for the following licensed position for the 2025-26 school year:

District Nurse (RN)

Valid Registered Nurse license issued by the Oregon State Board of Nursing required. Ability to obtain Oregon School Nurse certificate issued by TSPC preferred.

Bilingual and biliterate candidates are encouraged to apply.

Salary: $46,781.33-$91,302.64 (based on years of experience)

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A valid State of Oregon Teaching License for School Nurse or RN License issued by the State of Oregon, appropriate for the position with the correct endorsement/certification.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • The ability to follow oral and written directions.
  • The ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents and school personnel from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills in at least one language, two languages preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in the use of computer and internet based applications, including but not limited to email and Google applications.
  • Ability to learn new systems as they are brought online by the District.
  • Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff and district patrons.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment.
    • Annually pass the District's required online training, CPR/First Aid, and other training provided by the District.
    • Maintain current licenses and certifications required for the position.
    • Follow and maintain knowledge of all applicable District policies and procedures; follow and maintain knowledge of all current state and federal laws or administrative rules pertaining to public education.
    • Build relationships.
    • Develop and maintain an environment conducive to effective learning; promotes high levels of achievement in relation to individual student abilities.
    • Plans a program of intervention that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students; assists in the selection of curriculum, equipment and other instructional materials.
    • Organize instruction using learning objectives and clearly defined student outcomes.
    • Selects strategies that emphasize student involvement and engagement.
    • Develop clear behavioral expectations.
    • Prepares feedback for report cards and progress reports; conferences with students, parents/guardians and other staff members; maintains open lines of communication.
    • Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, curriculum and instructional methods (example: PLC, Site Council).
    • Takes all responsible precautions to provide for the health and safety of students and to protect equipment, materials and facilities.
    • Participates in District provided professional development.
    • Attends work regularly and is punctual.
    • Attends staff meetings and substitutes for others as needed.
    • District Nurse:
      The District Nurse strengthens the education process through improvement and protection of the health status of students so they can benefit from the school experience.
    • A Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing or a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in another field.
    • Registered Nurse license in the State of Oregon.
    • Assess student health needs, access community resources and interface with students, parents, staff and health care providers.
    • Coordinate, assign and delegate nursing tasks to school staff as appropriate.
    • Develop student specific health management plans after consultation with parents and health care providers.
    • Consult with school teams regarding implementation of accommodations in the health management plan.
    • Provide consultation in IEPs and 504s.
    • Provide regularly scheduled medication reviews, submit reports and work with staff to address areas of concern.
    • Provide required health room training, Glucagon, Epinephrine and medication administration classes.
    • Collaborate with the vision/hearing team regarding school screenings, referrals and follow-up.
