JB469: HGV Technician

Location:

Grantham
Salary: £19.50 per hour

Hours:

40 hours per week, including a 30‑minute paid break. Monday‑Friday 6am‑2pm / Monday‑Friday 2pm‑10pm alternate weeks.

Overview

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a HGV Technician on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex‑military personnel, however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles.
  • Perform regular inspections and general preventive maintenance services such as tyre rotation and oil changes.
  • Maintain inventory in the workshop and keep the area clean from oil spills and dust.
  • Work with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles.
  • Maintain records of vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
  • Provide repair services to clients on the road in case of emergencies.
  • Complete relevant documentation and paperwork as required and provide warranty claims or escalating them to higher management.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in HGV Vehicle Repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to identify worn and faulty components in accordance with the DVSA Standards.
  • UK driving license for the relevant vehicle classes.
