Science Specialist

We are seeking an enthusiastic Science Education Specialist to develop and deliver inspiring learning activities for young people aged 5–19 and their teachers. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work for a non‑profit professional membership organisation, helping to bring niche subjects to life through engaging resources, events and outreach programmes.

Reporting to the Head of Education & Professional Development, you will create and deliver educational content in a range of formats, including online resources, newsletters and practical activities. You will work closely with teachers, technical experts and stakeholders, and will regularly travel across the UK to deliver sessions, CPD courses and outreach events (with occasional weekend work).

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting school subscription services and developing curriculum‑aligned learning materials
• Delivering teacher CPD, contributing to study tours and competitions.
• Supporting specialist initiatives for both primary and secondary education.
• Help organise and deliver practical courses and events, and encourage engagement from members and partner organisations.

About you:

• University Degree in Science (ideally Materials Science, or Chemistry, Physics, Biology)
• Strong organisational ability.
• Confidence working with diverse audiences.
• Proactive, adaptable and comfortable taking ownership of projects.
• UK driving licence is essential.

Experience with the school curriculum, event planning or safeguarding is desirable. An enhanced DBS check will be required (support provided if needed).
