Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
The Inventory controller and scheduler shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the
following:
Perform overall maintenance planning and organization for the Maintenance Department
to include storeroom parts management, preventive maintenance, employee scheduling,
employee training, and maintaining the Computerized Maintenance Managing System
(CMMS) by performing the following duties:
Planning
• Plan and prepare preventive maintenance (PM) instructions that provide direction to
the Maintenance Department for corrective and preventive maintenance
• Incorporate safety into all work plans
• Work closely with others to ensure timely and safe completion of PMs through
routine reporting and discussion
• Conduct field walkdowns to identify and analyze corrective and preventive activities
• Conduct post-repair walkdowns to provide input for refining and improving
maintenance work quality
Spare Parts Inventory
• Order parts for inventory
• Maintain accurate inventory levels through CMMS inventory tracking.
• Work with vendors to lower part costs
• Monitor part flows in and out of shop, and manages repairs as needed
CMMS
• Work to build, maintain, and continually improve CMMS system into a reliable,
updated, and efficient system
• Generate performance measurements, reporting, costing, and job/equipment
history from CMMS
• Develop and maintain planned maintenance procedures and routes as required
Records Management
• Maintain accurate equipment files, related job plans and technical information
• Maintain and update the OEM, vendor, and blueprint library
Scheduling
• Maintain employee schedules including vacations, PTO on a weekly basis
• Able to complete “Train the Trainer” program and train employees as needed
Required Technical
Skills:
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Previous experience with data entry.
• Ability to work well with numbers.
• Ability to have good phone etiquette.
• Excellent safety record and adherence to safe work practices
• Excellent attendance record and adherence to company policy
• Knowledge on Microsoft Office Suites
Required
Soft Skills:
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
• Coachable and willing to learn.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Educations, Certifications and
Experience:
The following are required:
• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, such as pumps, conveyors, motors,
electrical controls, combustion, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.
• Proficient in typing.
• Previous experience in inventory and/or shipping and receiving positions.
• High school degree or equivalent; 3-5 years related experience
The following is preferred:
• Computer experience with maintenance software (CMMS)
• Dairy industry experience
• Food industry experience
Physical Requirements:
(S) he will be required to sit and stand for long periods of time. Will be required to lift and
move occasionally up to 50 pounds. Will frequently be required to stand, stoop, kneel,
crouch, and crawl
