The incumbent is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Cardiovascular Laboratory. This role may involve cross‑training in additional areas within the department. The individual assumes responsibility and accountability for patient care within the department, including conducting thorough assessments, monitoring patient conditions, and maintaining accurate documentation. The position also entails performing other related duties as necessary.
The work is primarily carried out independently, with a focus on delivering high‑quality patient care.
- Department: Radiology
- Position Status: Full‑time
- Work Schedule: Days, M‑F
- Required: Graduate of state accredited school of diagnostic medical sonography.
- Required: Graduate of state accredited school of diagnostic medical sonography.
- Required: Current Basic Life Support (AHA or American Red Cross BLS) certification
- Required: Cardiac Sonographer credentialed from the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Required: RDCS certification required
New graduates ARDMS required after 2 years of employment. For experienced echo sonographer, ARDMS required upon hire.
