Position OverviewThe behavioral health nursing director provides strategic and operational leadership for nursing services within the behavioral health setting. This role ensures that delivery of safe, high-quality, and patient‑centered care in alignment with organizational goals, regulatory standards, and best practices in behavioral health. The director oversees nursing staff, develops and implements policies and procedures, promotes staff development, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support holistic treatment and recovery.
Through effective leadership, the director fosters a therapeutic environment that supports the emotional and psychological well‑being of patients while promoting excellence in nursing practice.

- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
- Master’s Degree in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing (MSN‑PMHNP) or a master’s degree with clinical and leadership experience in the behavioral health setting
- Current Illinois Nursing License
- Current Basic Life Support (AHA or American Red Cross BLS) certification
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training course (CPI) required within 1 month of hire date
- Preferred:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA or American Red Cross ACLS)
- At least 5 years health care experience
- At least 3 years clinical staff nurse experience
- At least 2 years management and/or supervisory experience

The pay range for this position is $91,644.80 – $137,467 per year.
