. While this role includes leading worship gatherings, we welcome candidates whose primary strength is musical leadership
—including strong musicians or multi-instrumentalists who can confidently lead bands and vocalists, shape musical direction, and create high-quality music using recording software (DAWs). If you can pastor people, lead musicians and vocalists with authority and humility, and build excellent worship environments—even if your background doesn’t fit a typical “front-person worship leader” mold—we want to hear from you.

The Worship Director or Music Director partners closely and is led by the Pastor of Worship to shepherd and equip the worship ministry. This role emphasizes volunteer development, administrative coordination and fostering a healthy, unified team culture. The ideal candidate is a servant-leader who prioritizes equipping others over personal recognition, thrives under leadership and has a heart for shepherding both people and teams.

• Recruit, train and equip volunteer musicians and vocalists
• Coordinate volunteer auditions, onboarding and scheduling
• Create and curate resources to equip and develop worship teams
• Lead worship on weekends and select events as needed
• Support weekend service preparation, rehearsals and flow to uphold GCC’s standard of intentional excellence
• Foster a culture of discipleship, fun, unity and excellent stewardship of gifts within the worship team
• Partner with the Pastor of Worship and Creative team on creative initiatives
• Openness and willingness to leverage various artforms to help people engage with Jesus

• Minimum of five years of worship leadership experience in a church or ministry setting
• Ability to lead musically with an instrument (vocals preferred, but open to strong musical leadership) without relying on charts
• Strong and proven organizational and administrative skills
• Ability to lead musicians, vocalists and bands with clarity and inspiration
• Physically able to lift 30 pounds and work extended hours in various ministry seasons
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while thriving under leadership
• Committed to a full-time ministry lifestyle (40+ hours/week)
