Key Responsibilities- Perform calibration and preventative maintenance of measurement tools and equipment.
- Conduct precise dimensional measurements of manufactured parts, tooling, and assemblies using various metrology instruments.
- Operate and program advanced metrology equipment, including CMMs, optical comparators, and laser trackers.
- Analyze measurement data, interpret engineering drawings, and prepare detailed inspection reports.
- Identify and troubleshoot measurement discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, or out-of-tolerance conditions.
- Document and maintain accurate records of calibration activities, measurement results, and equipment history.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve measurement-related issues and support root cause analysis.
- Associate's degree in Metrology, Quality, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience and certification.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, schematics, and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Demonstrated ability to operate, program (if applicable), and troubleshoot various precision measurement equipment (e.g., CMMs, optical comparators, vision systems, hand tools).
- Solid understanding of metrology fundamentals, calibration processes, measurement uncertainty, and quality standards.
- Experience with metrology software for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience programming or scripting automated measurement routines (e.g., CMM, vision systems).
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles and software for data analysis.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD) for fixture design or model manipulation.
