Design Engineer - Grandville Area

Salary Range: $73,000 - $112,000 depending on experience

• Develop innovative product designs and improvements for manufacturing processes.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
• Conduct design analysis, material selection, and component specification to meet performance and cost targets.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and reliable.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs and design changes.
• Implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Manage engineering change orders (ECOs) and maintain accurate design documentation, including BOMs.

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor, CATIA).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly.
• Demonstrated experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for creating detailed engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of material properties and selection for various mechanical and environmental applications.
• Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation tools for design validation.

• Experience with FEA or other simulation software.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, machining, or assembly processes.
• Proficiency in Product Data Management (PDM) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
