POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of positions in this classification is to perform building, grounds, and equipment maintenance and repair duties. The work is performed under the supervision of the Facility Services Manager.
Looking for friendly people who are able to work 24-29 hours per week.
The schedule varies and the supervisor can be flexible with the shifts. Weekends will be necessary; it could be a mix of shifts, and the ideal candidate should be open to all possibilities.
Job Responsibilities (Include, but not limited to)
- Performs routine maintenance on buildings, grounds and equipment
- Performs and assists in work items to ensure mechanical system operations of facilities, including the Municipal Services Building, Police Dept., Spray Ground, and TWO city fountains
- Inspects buildings, grounds, and equipment for safety concerns and maintenance needs. Reports safety concerns and major repair needs to Facility Services Manager and assists in planning maintenance schedules
- Responsible for the ordering and inventory of building custodial supplies
- Mows grass and trims shrubs and trees. Inspects grounds for erosion, at Municipal Services. Building and Freedom Park
- Shovels and plows snow
- May provide functional direction to seasonal employees
- Tracks, orders, and maintains janitorial supplies for the Municipal Services Building
- Fills in for supervisor during vacations and other times supervisor is unavailable
- Performs quarterly maintenance on all HVAC RTUs, including filter and belt replacement, and condenser cleaning at the Municipal Services Building
- Weekly tracks and sets up for the Board and other various meetings
- Daily tracks and ensures operation of the HV/AC systems
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
No experience is required. High school diploma or GED and the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. Must have a valid state driver’s license
Physical Demands
Work is performed both inside and outside with exposure to extreme temperatures. Employee(s) may be exposed to varying noise levels in the environment, such as noise from recreational programs and noise from operating vehicles, equipment, and/or tools. Heavy work requires the employee to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally or up to 50 pounds frequently. Physical demand requirements include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, and feeling.
The employee must have visual acuity to perform frequent reading, be able to utilize measuring devices, and have the ability to distinguish color and depth vision. The employee must use hands for tools, machinery, and for writing or typing. Employee(s) must hear and talk with others, either in person or on the phone, to communicate information and ideas. Work requires communication with coworkers, and interacting with the public
Part-Time: $18.85 hourly. Paid holidays and PTO accrual.
