Healthcare Security Guard

Location: Grande Prairie, AB
Schedule: 12-hour shifts; days, evenings, overnights, weekends (Sunday–Saturday availability required)
Pay Rate: $26.01/hour
Employment Type: Full-Time
Averaging Agreement: Overtime as per averaging agreement

Paladin Security is seeking a dedicated and professional Healthcare Security Guard to join our team in Grande Prairie. As a key member of a national leader in security services, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure healthcare environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

This role requires strong decision-making skills, professionalism under pressure, and a proactive approach to safety and customer service.

• Ensure site safety and follow all Emergency and Safety Procedures
• Follow Post Orders and complete site-specific training
• Conduct traffic and pedestrian control at access points
• Patrol assigned areas on foot and/or in a motor vehicle
• Monitor premises for hazards, security breaches, and safety infractions
• Report irregularities, emergencies, and incidents accurately and promptly
• Provide assistance to individuals in need
• Contact emergency responders (police, fire, ambulance) when required
• Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
• Respond professionally to inquiries and information requests
• Utilize two-way radios and computer applications
• Promote a culture of safety and teamwork in the workplace

Requirements

• Must live within 30 minutes of Grande Prairie
• Availability Sunday to Saturday, including overnight and weekend shifts
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and own reliable vehicle
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Alberta Security License
• Authorized to legally work in Canada
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to write detailed reports and maintain site logs
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure with minimal supervision
• Discretion when handling confidential information
• Ability to walk 18–20 km per shift and climb stairs
