Universal Traffic Service, West Michigan's leading transportation management service provider and freight broker, is currently adding positions at our at Corporate office in Grand Rapids Michigan. As a Truckload Specialist, you will work directly with our carriers, securing coverage and managing transportation within the state, the Midwest and across the country. The environment is fast-paced and challenging. Punctuality is a critical factor in transportation.

Bering a service-centered company, we hold timeliness in high regard.

Excellent communication and negotiating skills are needed. One year of previous truckload procurement experience is required.

The scope of this position includes:

· Communicating effectively with our clients, carriers, and vendors

· Navigating load boards and carrier platforms

· Negotiating in the truckload spot market

. Ensure shipment details are accurately communicated to carriers

. Problem solving when working with carriers

Responsibilities and Expectations:

· Maintain a strong understanding of the industry and client needs

· Ensure the integrity of the shipment by following processes and procedures

· Serve as the lead point of contact for all carrier negotiations

· Build and maintain strong, long-lasting carrier relationships.

· Ensure the timely and successful truckload shipment coverage

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Starting at $48,000, plus company wide profit sharing and $250 per month if you opt out of health benefits.
