Position Summary
The Local Driver is responsible for safe operation of company trucks, timely delivery of products to customers and company locations, and handling loading, unloading, and transferring of products using various equipment and forklifts. The driver will also assist with warehouse duties and front counter tasks while exhibiting high‑quality customer service skills.
Position Responsibilities- Load, unload and deliver product to customer sites within designated time frames safely, using the most efficient routes.
- Maintain required logs and reports necessary to maintain compliance with DOT and company policies relating to safety standards and vehicle operation.
- Safely load and properly block, brace, and secure cargo.
- Apply strong knowledge of driving, traffic, and transportation laws, regulations, ensuring continuous compliance while operating trucks.
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to transfer, load and unload products – ensure accurate product and quantity are loaded into customers.
- Perform pre‑check and post‑check operations of company vehicles and forklifts per required procedures.
- Carry out warehouse duties and ensure accurate product and quantity are loaded/transferred for customers.
- Follow good housekeeping and safety practices.
- Perform heavy lifting as required.
- Serve as warehouse and/or front counter backup as needed.
- Use company‑provided or reimbursed device for phone and business use.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
- Works within well‑defined instructions.
- Uses established procedures and works under supervision to perform assigned tasks.
- Work is closely supervised.
- Minimum 21 years old.
- Possesses a valid driver’s license in the state of employment.
- Has working knowledge of commercial truck mechanics.
- Has working knowledge of current Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). a minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the past 3 years.
- Placement as driver contingent upon successful completion of DOT road test, pre‑employment drug & alcohol testing, and background check.
- DMV record cannot reflect an excess of 2 moving violations and/or preventable accidents within the past 3 years.
- Valid driving license with excellent driving record.
- Must pass DOT standards.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to proficiently use MS Office including Outlook & Excel, Mincron and a scanner.
- Able to multi‑task and assist in warehouse or front counter or a branch as needed.
- Be timely to work and conscientious of his/her time.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- 3+ years driving a commercial vehicle.
- Current valid driver license.
- High school diploma or GED.
- DOT screening annually.

Physical Requirements / Work EnvironmentMust be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations. Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs or lighter items repetitively, or perform 2‑man lifts for heavier items. Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
