HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
The Kent County Sheriff's Office is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to perform work required to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high/low pressure boilers, chillers, air handling equipment, refrigeration and heating equipment at the Kent County Sheriff Department and/or Correctional Facility.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Testing, analyzing and regulating boiler water treatment requirements.
- Operating boilers, chillers, and air handling equipment in compliance with all applicable laws and safety standards.
- Operating and maintaining custom Control Logic HVAC system and pneumatic and electrically controlled HVAC systems.
- Repairing and maintaining refrigeration and air conditioning units.
- Maintaining and repairing geothermal systems.
- Welding and brazing piping systems for related equipment.
Qualifications:
High School graduate or equivalent and two years of work experience in HVAC. Possession of Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification is required. Additional HVAC-related certifications are preferred. Examples include NATE, HVAC Excellence, Quality Installation Standard, EPA 608, or other trade-specific certificates.
Possession of a Boiler Operator's License from the City of Grand Rapids and/or a Mechanical Contractor's license is preferred. Notices will come via email. Please monitor the email address indicated on your application for updates.
