We are seeking a skilled Finish Carpenter / Hardware Installer to support commercial construction projects through the precise installation of architectural door hardware. This role focuses exclusively on the installation, adjustment, and quality control of panic bars, door closers, hinges, handles, handsets, and kick plates on commercial doors. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, understands commercial hardware requirements, and can work efficiently on active job sites.

• Install, adjust, and ensure quality control of architectural door hardware, including panic bars, door closers, hinges, handles, handsets, and kick plates.
• Ensure all hardware is level, plumb, aligned, and fully operational.
• Read and interpret hardware schedules, door schedules, and construction drawings.
• Operate hand tools and power tools, and use a tape measure accurately.
• Work independently or as part of a team on active commercial construction sites.

• Experience with installing panic bars, closers, hinges, handles, handsets, locksets, and kick plates.
• Ability to read and interpret hardware schedules, door schedules, and construction drawings.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and tape measures.

• Experience in finish carpentry and hardware installation.
• Knowledge of commercial construction environments.

Active commercial construction sites with indoor and occasional outdoor work. Fast‑paced and schedule‑driven environments. Projects are located at GR Airport, Mary Free Bed Hospital, and Switch Data Center. Work hours are from 6 am or 7 am to 3 pm or 4 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
