Overview
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on building systems and equipment to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained facility.
Responsibilities- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing and mechanical systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders and resolve issues efficiently and in a timely fashion.
- Inspect and maintain building infrastructure, including, but not limited to, lighting, doors, flooring, fixtures, furniture.
- Perform installation, repair, and upkeep of facilities equipment and machinery.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental, health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized and non specialized repairs or projects.
- Assist with preparation for customer visits, company events and conference room usage.
- Support emergency response for facility-related issues (e.g., leaks, power outages, etc.) including off hours and weekends.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred but not required.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills for work order systems and documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments (indoor/outdoor).
- Valid drivers license
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) software.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local environmental, health and safety standards.
- Familiarity with building codes and best practices in facilities management.
- Familiarity with energy efficiency practices.
Full-time, with occasional evenings or weekends as needed for emergencies or projects.
