AUTOMOTIVE SALES CONSULTANT

Responsibilities- Sell automobiles by understanding and demonstrating characteristics, capabilities, and features; develop and qualify buyers; and close sales.
- Greet customers on the sales floor and determine the make, type, and quality of the vehicle desired.
- Explain features and demonstrate operation of vehicles in showroom or on the road.
- Suggest optional equipment for customers to purchase; research availability of models and equipment.
- Consult with Sales Manager when necessary; ensure customers are engaged and never leave without consultation.
- Compute and quote sales price, including tax, trade-in allowances, license fees, discounts, and financing requirements.
- Prepare related paperwork (sales slips, credit applications, etc.).
- Deliver new vehicles to customers, ensure understanding of operating features, warranty, and paperwork to foster loyalty.
- Maintain a prospect development system and stay knowledgeable about new products, features, and accessories.
- Attend sales meetings and training sessions as scheduled; adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Meet or exceed written sales forecasts and targets.
- High School Diploma or GED; a valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) are required.
- Must have 2 years of automotive experience; knowledge in used car sales is preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials; ability to write reports and respond to questions from managers and the public; ability to solve problems and interpret various instructions.

- Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions; regularly stand, talk, and hear.
- Walk and sit as needed; may be exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; requires close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
