Sales Consultant - Seafood and Meat

Motor City Seafood Company is seeking a dynamic and motivated Seafood and Meat Sales Consultant to join our team in the Grand Rapids market. The ideal candidate will have a passion for seafood, strong sales skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Seafood and Meat Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with clients, driving sales, and promoting our wide range of seafood and meat products.

The Sales Consultant is a field-based sales role that focuses on selling, servicing, developing, and growing the MCSC portfolio of products. Sales Consultants will be responsible for maintaining established accounts and growing territory volume and revenue while achieving other growth objectives for the company. Other duties include but not limited to:

• Identify and target potential customers in the food service and retail sectors.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
• Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for growth.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
• Provide exceptional customer service and address customer inquiries and concerns promptly.
• Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

• Stay informed about our product offerings, including new arrivals and seasonal specials.
• Educate clients about the quality, sustainability, and sourcing of our seafood products.
• Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote our brand.

• Maintain accurate sales records and prepare regular sales reports.
• Collaborate with the sales team to share insights and strategies.
• Assist in inventory management and order processing as needed.

• $50,000+ per year salary plus commission and performance-based incentives.

The Sales Consultant operates in the field with daily travel, driving in all weather conditions. Time is also spent in a professional office environment. Work environment will vary based on account stops.

• Proven experience in sales, preferably in the food service or seafood and meat industry.
• Strong knowledge of seafood and meat products and industry trends.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.

• Adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the employee policy manual and any applicable contracts, signed agreements, and work rules.
• Cooperate with all management and staff of MCSC.
• Maintain a safe driving record.
