Job Overview
We are hiring immediately for a On-Call WAITER/WAITRESS position at Steelcase Inc – 901 44th Street Southeast, Grand Rapids, MI 49508. Online applications accepted only.
ScheduleOn-Call schedule, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. Further details upon interview.
PayFixed Pay Rate: $18.75 per hour.

Takes food and beverage orders and efficiently delivers items to dining room guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room; take food and beverages efficiently following established steps of service.
- Deliver food promptly and professionally; maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards and assist with any additional requests or needs.
- Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients; advise guests on appropriate combinations; accommodate reasonable requests and notes preferences; demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens.
- Communicate directly with back‑of‑the‑house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
- Exhibit exceptional communication skills and ability to get along well with others; remain flexible and patient with guests and staff.
- Collect tickets and follow proper cash‑handling procedures.
- Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
- Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information.
- Promptly address complaints or issues; relay relevant information or complaints directly to supervisor.
- Ensure dining room is properly set up prior to and after service; keep area clean and meet sanitation standards.
- Operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
- Work with staff of other departments to perform job duties during special events and functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Previous food service experience and/or front‑of‑house experience preferred.
- Barista experience is a plus.
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
