Pay: $56.00 to $66.00 per hour
Position SummaryThe Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides advanced clinical care to adult patients with a variety of cardiovascular conditions under the supervision of a cardiologist. The NP is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, and ongoing management of patients in both clinic and, as applicable, hospital follow-up settings.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including history, physical exam, and review of diagnostic data.
- Formulate differential diagnoses and develop evidence‑based treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising cardiologist.
- Manage chronic cardiac conditions (e.g., hypertension, heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease) and support post‑procedure follow‑up.
- Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests such as EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and relevant lab work in accordance with practice protocols.
- Perform patient education on diagnosis, medications, lifestyle modification, risk factor reduction, and adherence to treatment plans.
- Conduct follow‑up visits (in‑person and/or telehealth) to monitor response to therapy and adjust plans as needed.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other members of the care team to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
- Document all encounters and care plans accurately and timely in EPIC.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, protocol development, and practice meetings as requested.
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license and Nurse Practitioner license in the state of MI.
- Certification as an NP (e.g., ANCC or AANP); ACNP or FNP with relevant cardiology experience preferred.
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Prior cardiology or acute care experience preferred, but strong new graduates with relevant clinical rotations may be considered.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (or willingness to obtain within specified timeframe).
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent patient communication and education skills.
- Ability to function autonomously within a team‑based environment.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced outpatient setting.
