* The RNFA collaborates with the surgeon and the interdisciplinary health care team to ensure safe surgical procedures and optimal patient outcomes.

* What you will need:

* +  
** BSN
* * from an accredited school of nursing.

+ Successful completion of an  
** RNFA Program*
* + Active  
** Registered Nurse
** licensure in the State of Michigan

+  
** Certified Nurse Operating Room**  (CNOR)

+  
** BLS
* * Certification American Heart Association

+ Minimum of three years of  
** perioperative nursing experience** .

+ Proficiency in  
** scrubbing and circulating*

* What you will do:

*
* + Assists with positioning, prepping and draping the patient

+ Provide hemostasis under surgeon supervision, including clamping, coagulating, and ligating vessels

+ Performs wound closures as directed, including suturing drains, fascia, subcutaneous tissue, and skin

+ Handles tissue as directed by a surgeon.

+ Applies surgical dressing, application of casts, splints, or immobilizing devices

+ Assists in surgical case preparation (equipment, supplies, and instruments).

+ Participates in volume replacement or auto transfusion, when appropriate.

+ Selects and applies appropriate wound dressing.

+ Provides assistance in securing drainage systems to tissue.

+ Anticipate the surgeon's needs to expedite the operative procedure.
