Description:
The RNFA collaborates with the surgeon and the interdisciplinary health care team to ensure safe surgical procedures and optimal patient outcomes.
What you will need:
* BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
* Successful completion of an RNFA Program
* Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Michigan
* Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
* BLS Certification American Heart Association
* Minimum of three years of perioperative nursing experience.
* Proficiency in scrubbing and circulating
What you will do:
* Assists with positioning, prepping and draping the patient
* Provide hemostasis under surgeon supervision, including clamping, coagulating, and ligating vessels
* Performs wound closures as directed, including suturing drains, fascia, subcutaneous tissue, and skin
* Handles tissue as directed by a surgeon.
* Applies surgical dressing, application of casts, splints, or immobilizing devices
* Assists in surgical case preparation (equipment, supplies, and instruments).
* Participates in volume replacement or auto transfusion, when appropriate.
* Selects and applies appropriate wound dressing.
* Provides assistance in securing drainage systems to tissue.
* Anticipate the surgeon's needs to expedite the operative procedure.
