DescriptionWorks independently and collaboratively with members of the perinatal healthcare team to provide services to breastfeeding families.
Provides Breastfeeding Support Services to patients, nursing staff, community and physicians. Functions as a member of the Prenatal Education Services Team.

- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of Michigan
- Certified:
Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) by the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice (ALPP) - Preferred:
International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLC) (required within 2 years) - RN with three years experience in a perinatal services
- Develop, implements and evaluate breastfeeding educational programs for patients and families, prenatally and postpartum
- Provides breastfeeding assessment, support and counseling to inpatients and outpatients
- Provide ongoing education and training for Birth Center staff and physicians
- Collaborates with Birth Center staff and leadership to develop, implement and update, as needed, standards of care related to breastfeeding.

- 8a-4:30p and some 9a-5:30p
- Occasional evenings
