What Will You Do? As a Clinical Nursing Supervisor at Pine Rest, you’ll be part of a tight‑knit team that believes in the healing power of your expertise and compassion. You will represent the organization to external constituencies, provide initial interface and assistance in dealing with patients, lead unit staff in daily tasks, and act as a resource person and trainer for staff.

You will actively participate in the daily tasks of unit staff and demonstrate compassion to recipients of services, coworkers, and the surrounding communities through integrity, stewardship, empowerment, promotion of diversity, and professional excellence. You will foster a sense of belonging and empowerment in a diverse workplace and be dedicated to excellent customer service and patient safety.

Inpatient Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in performing duties in accordance with the organizational mission, acting as a role model for other staff.
  • Oversee Lead Care Providers, Care Providers, RNs, Lead RNs, and Unit Coordinators.
  • Assess staffing needs and implement staff‑to‑patient ratios within the budgetary structure of all units. Provide input to CSM and HAS Director regarding needs.
  • Maintain the established policies and procedures of the organization and department/unit. Communicate new policies with staff members and ensure that they are followed.
  • Practice stewardship in utilizing resources.
  • Assist in the development of and be accountable for the actualization of established strategies, plans, budgets and other financial matters; act as a lead in performance improvement activities, strategies, plans, customer service initiatives, and budget issues. Hold assigned staff accountable for meeting strategies, plans and budgets.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, psychiatric techs, families, case managers, doctors, and others.
  • Provide input to Clinical Service Manager and HAS Corporate Director on all issues so that changes and policies can be made to reflect need and practice.
  • Fulfill the roles of Clinical Service Manager and Director of Operations during these hours.
  • Ensure patient safety (medical and behavioral). Decisions made impact the liability of the organization.
  • Provide input into staff performance appraisals.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals, and other literature and attending related conferences, seminars, and completing continuing education units.
  • Model the mission and values of the organization, presenting a professional image in appearance, attitudes and behaviors, time management and communication skills; provide spiritual, emotional, social, mental and physical support to patients.
  • Commit to demonstrating the Hospital and Acute Services Model of Care.
