We deliver real change and measurable results through our diverse, high‑performing teams, quality work at the highest professional standards and operational know‑how from across our global organization.

Key Responsibilities

The nature of this role means no two projects will be the same. As a SLED service line Senior Manager you will actively pursue business development activities—including implementing strategies and tactical steps within and outside EY—to identify opportunities, develop proposal responses, train staff, and execute engagement deliverables simultaneously. You will think on your feet and challenge existing practices to develop answers to complex issues, collaborating with colleagues across multiple service lines to build relationships and identify opportunities for our clients.

Regular travel will be required, meeting with key clients—including some of the most respected in their fields.

Skills And Attributes for Success
  • Develop and maintain strong, productive working relationships with advisory client personnel and assess client satisfaction.
  • Direct field work, inform supervisors of engagement status, and manage assurance staff performance.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex governmental accounting (e.g., GASB), budgetary reporting and auditing concepts, and apply them to client situations.
  • Delegate audit tasks, provide guidance, and develop people effectively.
  • Provide performance feedback, training, and performance reviews for assurance staff.
  • Contribute ideas/opinions and respond to team members’ views.
  • Foster an efficient, innovative and team‑oriented work environment.
  • Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge and enhance service delivery.
  • Develop an understanding of EY's service lines and encourage assurance team members to seek service opportunities.
Required Qualifications
  • U.S. CPA license in your work state.
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business discipline, plus 10 years of post‑college experience in financial audit and providing financial reporting advisory to SLED clients in a fast‑paced environment.
  • In‑depth understanding of US Governmental GAAP, GASB standards, the Financial and Single Audit (Subpart F of the OMB Uniform Guidance) and OMB guidance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of preparing and auditing Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), Annual Financial Statements and Single Audit Report for SLED entities.
  • Proficiency in modified‑accrual reporting, grants management and budgetary reporting.
  • Hands‑on experience with business development and proposal governance in the SLED space; experience leading multiple proposals in the past year.
  • Experience with large regional or national not‑for‑profit clients is a plus.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and collaborative management skills.
  • A proven record of excellence in managing, mentoring and improving a high‑performing team.
  • Dedication to teamwork and leadership.
  • Integrity within a professional environment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher.
Desired Additional Credentials
  • CGFM and/or CDFM certification.
