Description

A Senior Field Service Technician is responsible for providing service and customer support during field visits or dispatches. This individual must be able to apply mechanical and electrical/pneumatic knowledge to build and test industrial tooling systems according to engineering data. Applying a working knowledge of mechanical and electrical/pneumatic principles as well as the ability to understand wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications is required.

Responsibilities
  • Managing all on‑site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks
  • Able to perform mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
  • Interpret 2D drawings of mechanical and controls assembly, including control wiring diagrams and pneumatic control logic diagrams; electrical wiring diagram familiarity is essential
  • Support, install, troubleshoot, and validate systems which include pneumatics, servos, VFDs, relays, communication networks, touchscreens, push buttons, and robotic integration
  • Plumb and wire mechanical ergonomic lift‑assist tools, secure tools, robotic/automated systems, and special machines to drawings/schematics provided
  • Provide consistent and quality‑driven product results associated with assembling and terminating control panels, control plates, and wire/tube harness assemblies
  • Mechanically assemble various tools and special machines using mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components in the construction of the machine system
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all activities and provide efficient service to internal and external customers
  • Ensure continuous improvement of operations and processes
  • Communicate effectively with co‑workers and customers both orally and in writing
  • Operate forklift, scissor lift, etc.
  • Travel internationally and up to 100%
  • Be willing to work holidays
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be professional, proactive, and positive. Having a passion for exceptional customer service and support is a must. Being sensitive to the unpredictable demands and uncertainties associated with customer service is a requisite to delivering superior results and exceeding the expectations of very demanding customers.

Education

High School diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum 8 years’ experience and knowledge in Automotive, Metals, Plastics, Packaging, and Material Handling industries is a plus.
