Summary of Function
Supply Chain Manager leads supply chain activities, bridging corporate strategy with site execution to ensure operational alignment. Sets the purchasing strategy for all sites, ensuring consistency in supplier selection, cost management, and compliance with corporate standards. Defines sourcing priorities, negotiating key contracts, and establishes purchasing policies that align with overall business objectives. The Supply Chain Manager develops high‑performing teams, ensures compliance with regulatory and corporate standards, and drives data‑driven supply chain performance that supports business growth and profitability.
MajorDuties and Responsibilities Strategy & Execution
- Implement corporate supply chain strategy at the site level, ensuring alignment with operational and business objectives.
- Translate strategic priorities into executable supply chain plans that improve service, cost, inventory, and risk posture.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Operations, Finance, Sales, Quality, and Engineering.
- Set and manage purchasing strategy across all sites, ensuring consistency in supplier selection, pricing, contracts, and compliance with corporate standards.
- Lead all purchasing activities including negotiations, contracts, pricing support, systems, procedures, and supervision of purchasing staff.
- Establish sourcing priorities, supplier segmentation strategies, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses.
- Lead supplier performance reviews, corrective actions, and risk assessments.
- Develop and implement supply continuity and risk‑mitigation strategies, including dual sourcing where appropriate.
- Coordinate cross‑site inventory balancing to optimize working capital and customer service levels.
- Support and enhance the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, including improvements in demand planning and forecast accuracy.
- Support inventory optimization initiatives to improve inventory turns, reduce excess and obsolete inventory, and eliminate stock‑outs.
- Own and improve working capital metrics including inventory turns, DIO, and cash‑to‑cash cycle.
- Lead all facilities in standardizing and optimizing the use of IQMS modules and supply chain functionality.
- Serve as business owner for supply chain systems, ensuring master data integrity and data governance.
- Identify and lead system enhancements, automation, and analytics initiatives to support data‑driven decision‑making.
- Establish, evaluate, and report KPIs for all areas of responsibility, including service, inventory, supplier performance, team effectiveness, and system‑driven gains.
- Report site‑level supply chain performance to the VP of Operations & Supply Chain and recommend corrective and improvement actions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to eliminate waste and errors.
- Supervise, coach, and develop materials and supply chain personnel across multiple sites.
- Establish performance expectations, accountability, and ongoing training and development plans.
- Drive a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Plan and implement risk‑mitigation policies and practices across sourcing, inventory, and logistics.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, ISO 13485, GMP, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support audits, supplier quality issues, and corrective actions in coordination with Quality and Legal teams.
- Create, train, and maintain up‑to‑date procedures, SOPs, and work instructions for all areas of responsibility.
- Ensure consistent application of standards and best practices across all sites.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
This position will directly report to the VP of Ops and Supply Chain. There will be frequent interaction with all departments as well as regular interaction with vendors and occasional interaction with customers.
