MissionWaséyabek Development Company, LLC (Waséyabek) is a legal entity, created and wholly owned by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP or Band), a federally recognized Indian Tribe to serve as the holding company through which the Band acquires, develops and manages a diversified portfolio of non-gaming business assets. Waséyabek’s portfolio currently includes commercial real estate, industrial and manufacturing operations, professional services companies, trucking, logistics and warehousing, and federal contracting entities.
Waseyabek plays a key role in advancing the NHBP’s economic development and long‑term sustainability.
The program is designed to provide meaningful, real‑world experience while fostering collaboration and connection. Opportunities to help students grow professionally while developing a deeper understanding of the mission and cultural foundation that guide our work include:

This position supports the day‑to‑day operational needs of the IT Department as well as providing support to project‑based tasks. This will give the intern gainful experience and knowledge in the workings of a tribally owned economic development IT environment.
This is an in‑person position with flexible hours between 8 a.m‑5 p.m. Monday through Friday, up to 30 hours a week for 3 Months, May‑July.
Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:- Collaborate with team members to learn best practices, tools, and enterprise processes.
- Support reporting and measurement for authentication and access initiatives, including tracking adoption and enrollment metrics.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of training materials to educate end users on technical tasks.
- Participate in operational tasks to support ongoing cybersecurity initiatives based on experience and supervision.
- Assist in the installation and/or maintenance of physical hardware and networking infrastructure with oversight.
- Analyzing existing processes and recommending solutions that will bring added efficiency.
- Assisting with the management of IT asset inventory and supporting hardware deployment projects.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Applicants must possess any education, training or experience necessary to perform all essential duties and responsibilities associated with the position. Education, training and experience indicative of an individual’s ability to perform all essential job duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Currently pursuing or a recent graduate of a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and business‑related software, including Microsoft 365 suite.
- Basic understanding of authentication concepts, including passwords, multi‑factor authentication (MFA), and passwordless authentication, and how authentication differs from authorization.
- Foundational knowledge of permissions and access control concepts, such as roles, groups, and least‑privilege access.
- Ability to pass an extensive background investigation, including but not limited to a nationwide criminal record search and other relevant background information deemed necessary by WDC.
- One of the following industry certifications:
Microsoft (MCP, MCSA, MCSE), CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, ITIL Intermediate - Prior knowledge or experience working with a Native American Tribe.
