Restaurant Host - Knoop

We at Lodgco Hospitality—located at Canopy by Hilton, a contemporary boutique hotel in downtown Grand Rapids—are looking for a host/hostess to assist guest‑service operations at Knoop, the hotel’s exquisite rooftop cocktail lounge.

Base Pay Range

$14.00/hr - $14.00/hr

Essential Job Functions
  • Welcome guests and ascertain their dining needs.
  • Seat guests and manage the seating chart.
  • Receive incoming calls and provide information in a polite and professional manner.
  • Monitor restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow.
  • Assist servers with table clearing, cleaning, and setting.
  • Assist fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, as needed.
  • Complete side work including polishing/rolling silverware, stocking condiments and glasses, sweeping and cleaning as directed by supervisor. Practice “clean as you go” method and sanitation standards.
  • Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products.
  • Follow proper cashiering functions by completing/closing guest checks and submitting information into the POS system.

Required / Preferred

Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • 6 months + of experience in a related position.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Satisfactory criminal background screening required. Valid driver’s license and safe driving record may be required.

Physical Demands

The employee is required to stand for the entire shift, balance, reach, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, smell, taste and perform repetitive motions that require manual dexterity. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds may be required. The position is primarily indoors and may subject the employee to high or cold temperatures from machinery and moderate noise level.
