As an Activity Therapist at Pine Rest, you’ll be part of an interdisciplinary treatment team. You’ll use clinical skills in recreation or occupational therapies, expressive arts therapies, and psycho-educational interventions to plan, organize and implement educational programming. You will assess patients’ capabilities, needs, interests, and goals, and engage patients in group-based programming aligned with the team’s goals. Complete individualized patient assessment within the first 72 hours of admission; plan, implement, and facilitate Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Informed (DBT-I) and psycho educational programming; document patient interactions; participate in and communicate about interdisciplinary treatment planning. Identify project and process improvements in coordination with unit and departmental goals.

• Bachelor’s in Recreational Therapy
• Registered as a therapist or certification as a CTRS
• Minimum of three months of relevant psychiatric/medical/clinical experience to gain entry-level abilities in planning and implementing therapeutic activities
• Knowledge of current therapy principles in area of expertise, therapeutic expressive arts activities, recreation or occupational therapies, psycho-educational interventions and group counseling techniques, typically acquired through degree and clinical training
