The PCA Trainee ProgramDescription: The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) Training Program is a 3-day, work-based learning experience that prepares individuals for a nursing support role and a nursing career pathway. This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in pursuing a CNA course but unable to do so due to scheduling, financial, or other constraints. No prior experience is required. The program includes onsite classroom instruction, hands-on practice, and on-the-job training.
Responsibilitiesof Patient Care Assistant (PCA):
- Respond to patient call lights for assistance or by rounding
- Obtain vital signs from patients
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, including showers, oral hygiene, and dressing/undressing
- Transport patients for procedures, transfers, or discharge
- Maintain a clean and organized environment in patient rooms
- Observe patient’s condition and progress in collaboration with the RN
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- High School diploma or equivalent
- BCLS certification obtained within one week of hire
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups

- Deliver patient care based on standards of care, practice, policies, and procedures in collaboration with the RN
