Job Description

This role is field-based
, and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, drive sales performance, effectively manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and employ customer needs solving capability to maximize short and long-term sales performance. Place the patient at the center of all efforts and operate within Abb Vie’s business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Create pre-call plan objectives and execute post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance. Effectively handle objections and concerns and consistently gain calls to action to close on every sales call.
  • Proactively and continuously serve customer needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted customer relationships and achieve win-win agreements between Abb Vie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease states, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align, anticipate changes, and optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiates Abb Vie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or a business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree; at least five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry; a high school diploma/GED required.
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools; possesses strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts selling approach. Leverages findings to develop sales strategies and offers innovative ideas to maximize opportunities.
  • Provides impact with ideas for the organization and responds to changes. Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Influences others and is a credible, respected resource among peers; builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix team.
  • Leads by example with positive behaviors and coaching; documented success in leadership and support roles at district/region/organization levels.
  • Preferred:
    Proven track record in sales within the therapeutic areas; experience in pharmaceutical sales (e.g., physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing). English proficiency verbal and written.
  • Essential:
    Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • HCIR credentialing may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and licenses required by state or city. You are responsible for meeting these requirements. Abb Vie provides resources to help answer questions.
