Assistant Controller​/Controller

This position will oversee all aspects of fund and entity‑level accounting, financial reporting, and operational controls. This role will work closely with the entire operating team, as well as external service providers, to ensure timely, accurate, and GAAP‑compliant reporting. This position will own the integrity of financial data, ensuring alignment between accounting records, investment data, and reporting outputs.

• Fund and entity accounting: oversee accounting for the investment fund and related entities within Sage Intacct, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Financial reporting:
  Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial statements in accordance with GAAP and ASC 946, leveraging our Sage Intacct accounting system and Addepar investment management system.
• Close process:
  Manage the period end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness across all entities.
• Investment activity:
  Record and reconcile investment transactions including purchases and sales, capital calls, distributions, and asset net value, ensuring consistency across all systems of record.
• Valuation support:
  Support fair value measurement including coordination with investment teams and external investment managers while maintaining valuation documentation to ensure consistent records across systems.
• Audit coordination:
  Serve as a point of contact for external auditors; provide audit support schedules sourced from our internal systems of record.
• Accounting policies and internal control:
  Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls over financial reporting.
• Systems and integrations:
  Partner with internal and external stakeholders to maintain and enhance implementation of new software in addition to integrations between our existing technology tools.
• Process improvement:
  Identify and implement automation and process improvements to improve close efficiency, data accuracy, and reporting quality, including the use of new and novel technologies and methodologies (e.g., artificial intelligence, etc.)
• Management support:
  Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership to support liquidity planning, budgeting, and strategic decision‑making.

• 5+ years of experience in accounting
• Experience in investment fund accounting and/or public accounting strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, investment company accounting and fair value measurement
• Ability to manage multiple entities and coordinate with external service providers
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Comfortable operating in a lean, team‑oriented environment
• Strong technology systems aptitude
• Experience with Sage Intacct and familiarity with Addepar or other investment management systems is a plus, but not required
• Travel may be required
