The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for supporting all general accounting activities. Works in the general ledger to help maintain the account accuracy for each period and year end close. Works to maintain accrual and provision accuracy and financial analysis which involves intercompany (China & US) communication. Assists GL Manager with any special projects and general accounting tasks.
Key Job Responsibilities- Entering financial data and transactions into the ledger.
- Reviewing financial documents for accuracy and reconciling accounts
- Maintain and monitor accuracy of assigned general ledger accounts.
- Work to develop a process on maintaining back-end accruals to ensure that accruals are accurate and up to date.
- Ensuring financial records comply with regulatory standards.
- Maintain Prepaid, Fixed, and Leased Assets
- Process Payroll in the general ledger and reconcile payroll withholding deductions.
- Support weekly recording of freight transactions.
- Supporting internal and external audit work
- Assist GL Manager with general accounting tasks or any special project.
- Help ensure month end software (Flo Qast) is up to date monthly with general ledger detail and Remind Me Requests are maintained.
- Provide support with administrative tasks as needed.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred – Finance/Accounting with 2-3 years of general accounting experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel & Word skills
- Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skills
- Oracle ERP knowledge a plus.

This position does not have supervisory responsibility.
TravelThis position requires minimal travel; 1-2 times/year also to Illinois.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in professional office, environments as well as virtually. Expect to work 4 days/week in the office and 1 day/week virtually.
