POSITION OVERVIEW

The Windquest Group’s Financial Analyst partners closely with the Chief Financial Officer to support investment analysis, portfolio performance, valuation work, and strategic decision making across a diverse group of operating companies. This role supports leadership in understanding business performance, evaluating opportunities, and allocating capital effectively.

The Financial Analyst works across financial modeling, portfolio analytics, performance assessment, and ad hoc analysis, with increasing responsibility over time. Responsibilities include analyzing historical and current trends, supporting the development and maintenance of KPIs, identifying drivers behind financial results, and building clear, assumption-driven models to inform decisions.

This role requires strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. The Financial Analyst works closely with portfolio company leaders and internal stakeholders, providing responsive financial support in alignment with Windquest’s commitment to exceptional hospitality. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and report on investment and portfolio performance against budget and expectations.
  • Analyze financial performance across diverse operating companies, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, with a focus on the underlying drivers of results.
  • Prepare monthly financial and KPI dashboards along with written commentary.
  • Maintain and enhance the Windquest portfolio valuation model, updating as new information is received.
  • Prepare and update quarterly and annual valuation materials.
  • Coordinate with external valuation advisors on the annual portfolio valuation.
  • Build and maintain discounted cash flow, scenario based, and returns driven financial models.
  • Assist with ad hoc due diligence requests including modeling projections, cash flow analysis, investment returns, and multiple investment scenario analyses.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses for strategic planning, special projects, board materials, and management reporting.
  • Research unfamiliar industries, business models, and market dynamics as needed.
  • Prepare macroeconomic research and analyze industry articles for leadership review.
  • Research and implement new software systems as needed.
  • Document and ensure proper recordkeeping of financial and investment records.
  • Track and monitor financial reporting deadlines.
  • Assist with additional projects and duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Protect organizational values by maintaining strict confidentiality.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a generalist finance, investment banking, commercial lending, transaction advisory, valuation, family office/holdco, or corporate development environment and/or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration.
  • Strong accounting foundation with the ability to read financial statements independently and understand cash versus earnings.
  • Demonstrated ability to build clean, assumption driven financial models, with a strong preference for Excel based analysis.
  • Experience working across multiple businesses or projects simultaneously and comfort operating in ambiguous environments.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to be challenged.
  • Self starter who can operate independently with minimal oversight.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills that support strategic interpretation rather than simple reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
