Overview
This “Co-op - Software & IoT Testing” position is a member of the BISSELL Product Approval & Test team, working with the product engineering Test engineers and technicians to develop new test techniques & equipment, execute both new and established tests on new product designs & software, and document performance results. The Co-op will work closely with his/her supervisor and a cross‑functional team to help perform software validation and verification tests, and develop new test tools & techniques, under direct supervision.
Responsibilities- Support Test engineers and technicians with the development of new test techniques and equipment for evaluating the robustness & performance of new product designs and their software.
- Support Test engineers and technicians by carrying out some of the performance tests that are part of the product evaluation test plan for new product designs.
- Actively engages in learning/developmental activities, enhancing personal knowledge, skill and potential career growth.
- Help support the enhancement of some of the old and/or new tests & equipment with automation.
- Summarize the learning and activities and present to the PD&E Electronics leadership group and peers.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsApplicants MUST be currently enrolled at an accredited, four‑year university majoring in Electrical Engineering, EE technology, IT, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Specific concentration:
Software Development, Electronics, &/or Robotics preferred
- Experience with programming required (ideally in Python).
- Aptitude for testing & troubleshooting electronic devices & their software.
- Ability to interpret engineering design documents i.e., schematics, drawings, & software code.
- Aptitude for disassembling and properly reassembling consumer products.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask multiple job assignments.
- Attention to detail, resourceful, creative thinker/problem solver.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Proficiency in the use of standard laboratory test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, soldering iron, other test instrumentation and hand tools). Proficiency in the use of software test equipment would be a plus (debugger/programmer, communications tracer/logger, RF monitor).
