An Environmental Project Manager/Senior Project Manager will be working with key clients, prospects, and SME's internal teams to implement and manage projects, conduct client management, evaluate project risk, and deliver high-quality services and deliverables. As part of our team, you will be working on projects to revitalize and reuse contaminated sites and advising owners and other stakeholders on project findings and options along with managing their regulatory obligations.
Though not a primary role, your client interactions and visible expertise will be an important part of developing new business opportunities for SME's multidisciplinary service groups.
Responsibilities:
- Extensive knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations and applications.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing environmental site investigations; evaluating, validating and visually presenting data; and preparing and reviewing technical reports.
- Exceptional ability to synthesize data and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with other team members and clients.
- Preparing successful proposals, negotiating professional service fees and contracts.
- Mentoring and leading project teams to successfully complete assigned responsibilities.
- Identifying and participating in professional and business organizations and other networking activities that will foster relationships with current clients and potential clients and develop the professional visibility of SME and the environmental team.
- Competency using computer operating systems and MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and supervisors, conveying technical information clearly.
- Strong organizational skills with abilities to prioritize and manage workloads, prepare and maintain accurate and detailed records, document field observations and safety concerns, and identify problem resolutions.
- Effective interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and team members, fostering positive working relationships.
- Customer-centric approach to provide excellent service to clients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
- Ability to understand and adapt to change and react productively to frequent interruptions and changing conditions.
- General aptitude for identifying and resolving complex technical problems in the field, utilizing critical thinking and logical reasoning.
- Demonstrates ethical conduct, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring safety and security in all aspects of work, strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines, fostering a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Ability to handle physical demands, such as lifting (up to 50lbs repetitively), walking on uneven ground frequently, and carrying equipment, working in various weather conditions, and traveling to different locations.
