Essential Responsibilities
* Complete hydrologic and hydraulic analyses; water quality analysis; storm drainage design; stormwater inspections; irrigation ditch, pipe and structure design; and culvert design.
* Prepare reports for internal and external clients.
* Assume control of work-in-process, coordinating the timely completion of projects with assistance from the Senior Hydraulic Engineer.
Knowledge and Skills
* Experience with GIS
* Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
* Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM
* Experience with Water Distribution System Models;
Water
GEMS, Info Water, etc.
Working Conditions and Environment
* The Hydraulic Engineer works both in the office and out in the field. The Hydraulic Engineer may travel to worksites. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate in the office, and moderate to loud in the field.
* The Hydraulic Engineer must frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds or more.
* Specific vision abilities are required by this job and include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
* Use of computers is integral to carry out work assignments.
Education and Experience
Minimum
* Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Preferred
* Bachelors degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related field with hydraulics emphasis
* Passing grade on NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
* 2+ years of progressively responsible applicable experience
