• Own and execute mechanical engineering scope for assigned Amazon modernization/retrofit projects
• Ensure project targets are met for quality, on-time delivery, and cost. Anticipate issues and address proactively where appropriate
• Maintain up-to-date project log through department project tracking tool
• Regularly report on project portfolio performance including but not limited to on-time delivery, budget, quality, risks
• Own short-term monthly forecast across assigned projects regardless of resource reporting
• Complete the design of complex systems that integrate hardware and software
• Complete complex material specification, schematic preparation and appropriate follow-up
• Complete recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and customer satisfaction
• Perform complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for processes and application of products to system design
• Identify and resolve more complex problems and apply problem-solving skills to deal with most situations
• Master understanding of project schedule and budget for Mechanical Engineering functions

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• At least 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, with 8+ years preferred
• Proficiency in CET Configura and AutoCAD is highly preferred
• Familiar with Amazon DC installation types (ARS, IXD, SSD, Air Hub, non-sort)
• Familiarity with Amazon MTBH, rates, and sub-system designs
• Familiar with Amazon design specifications
• Strong background in Material Handling/automation
• Experience in a Mechanical Engineering position that is project-based (design to installation)
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrates broad knowledge of the field and applies concepts to complete moderately complex assignments
• Understands organizational business practices and contributes to problem resolution
• Communicates, trains and works with customers for final system design
• Travel up to 20% of the time to different customer locations and Dematic locations
