Overview
Job Title: Solidworks Designer. The Designer will play a key role in supporting the development of shelving elevation assemblies using Solidworks. These assemblies are designed for warehouse and backroom storage in major retail environments. This position is integral to the organization’s implementation of Solidworks PDM and will involve regular progress reporting and collaboration with engineering leadership.
Responsibilities- Interpret and review 2D elevation layouts in AutoCAD.
- Design shelving elevations in Solidworks based on provided layouts.
- Validate designs for accuracy, including model integrity and BOM verification.
- Collaborate with the Lead Engineer to support the integration of assemblies into Solidworks PDM.
- Provide weekly progress updates, including the number of assemblies completed and remaining.
- Offer support and guidance to the design team on Solidworks best practices and training as needed.
- Solidworks (5 years minimum)
- Ability to create 3D elevations and assemblies
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience with Solidworks PDM
Skills & Qualifications
- Draftside 2D experience
- Professional Engineer Stamp
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering
- Leadership experience
The work environment consists of a team of 5 engineers, working 40 hours a week from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with no overtime required. The facility houses 120 people, and there may be opportunities to collaborate with Product Managers and the CAD team in the future.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Walker, MI.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
