We are seeking talented Software and Systems Engineers to join our growing Engineering Solutions team. This project involves working with a global developer and manufacturer of high-quality fire protection, auto-dimming mirrors, and windows for the automotive, aerospace, and commercial fire protection industries, with facilities located in Zeeland, MI.

The Embedded System Development Engineer will be responsible for system-level design activities for cabin monitoring features, including head and eye detection, drowsiness detection, distracted driver alerts, presence detection, child detection, and video conferencing. Responsibilities include defining system requirements, developing system architecture, overseeing system testing, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards such as ISO
26262 and ASPICE.
- Develop system and interface requirements
- Maintain traceability from customer requirements to system and detailed requirements
- Develop and maintain system architecture
- Ensure traceability of system architecture to requirements and test plans
- Support System FMEA processes
- Follow established system engineering processes
- Ensure development and validation align with ASIL ISO
26262 and ASPICE standards

Structured (e.g., DO-178B like), ASPICE / ASIL
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate requirements effectively across teams.
Leadership SkillsAbility to work autonomously in a remote setting, complete tasks accurately and on time, and lead small teams.
Job Requirements- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems engineering (hardware and software)
- Experience with automotive interfaces such as CAN, Flex Ray, LIN
- Knowledge of ISO
26262 and FUSA standards - Experience with DOORS for system requirements and interface documentation
- Experience performing system FMEA
- Proven ability to develop and document system architectures
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
- Automotive SPICE experience
