Project Engineer – Grand Rapids, MI Responsibilities & Duties- Prepares proposals, contracts, and subcontracts
- Establishes project deadlines and tracks progress; follows up on all aspects of a project (deadline, permits, etc.) and provides weekly and/or monthly status reports
- Leads kick‑off meetings, progress meetings, and client meetings
- Works with Business Development to identify, evaluate and pursue opportunities
- Works with team members and other technical staff to establish team roles, project schedule, and budget for new projects
- Monitors project budgets and scope of work
- Reviews plans, reports and other work product to confirm that they meet the client’s needs
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Michigan
- 5+ years of experience in civil engineering
- Experience in a project manager role for municipal, roadway reconstruction, sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, trail, traffic signal, or site design projects (residential, commercial, educational, or industrial)
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently or within a team
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite programs
