SUMMARY
The mid-level Electrical Engineer II supports the design and integration of control systems for industrial material-handling solutions and production lines. This role utilizes engineering tools and processes in the planning, design, engineering, and implementation of controls engineering equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Creates and maintains controls engineering and design documentation, including sensor/actuator layouts, controls component order lists, electrical drawings, motor lists, etc.
- Cross-references controls components, creates TGW part numbers, and orders necessary controls components in designated software tools (e.g. Navision).
- Assists with controls installation request-for-quote (RFQ) process.
- Provides technical support to Project Engineering, Electrical and Mechanical Installation, Controls Commissioning, and other internal teams involved in installation and commissioning of TGW equipment.
- Specify, clarify, and document the controls interfaces for third-party equipment, while supporting the controls processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Controls-related field (Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering) or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
Two (2) or more years of Controls or Electrical Engineering experience in industrial or material-handling environment.
Travel:
Up to 20% travel, as required.
- Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical principles, with the ability to read e-drawings and AutoCAD drawings.
- Thorough knowledge of industrial automation and control systems.
- Understanding of full design-to-production project life cycles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Ability to remain stationary at a desk for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to go to site frequently and move safely around industrial and/or warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 25 pounds at a time.
- Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices.
- Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing, on a frequent basis.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.
